本主修以新聞公關與影視製作為主。特別重視實務經驗，出 版社區雜誌「書院報導」，及影音製作；另外也與電影公司 合作製作飛奔來愛你」校園青春劇。實習合作單位包括全球 基督教媒體、教會影音部門、及一般媒體等。
The Only College for Chinese Christian Media Professionals
There are more than one hundred million Chinese Christians, and many Chinese Christian media organizations in the world. Our mission is to train media professionals with both Christian character and the technical media ability to share the gospel and to influence this world positively.
Course Design—Learning by Doing
Our major provides Journalism/ PR & Film Production training. We emphasize practicums, such as publishing the CC Community magazine, and producing films. We also cooperate with a Christian movie company to produce a campus short film “Running to You.” Our cooperative practicum organizations include global Christian media organizations, church media departments, and general media companies.
本主修的前身是「基督教文宣主修」，創立於1990年，目的是為培育基督教的福音文字工作者。1998年為因應影音發展的需求，更名為大眾傳播學系，除了文字出版的雜誌、報紙，舉凡電視、廣播、電影、或是網路，都是本學系研習的範圍，但主要著重在「新聞公關」與「影視製作」的企劃與製作。於2009為配合基督教博雅教育的走向，改為「傳播主修」，2012年向教育部立案之後，沿用傳播主修原有課程內容及架構。
The predecessor to the Communication major at Christ`s College was the「Christian literature communication」major, which was founded in 1990 for training writers for Christian publishers. In 1998, we changed the name of the major to Mass Communication, after adding numerous courses in audio and video. Since then, the courses of this department have expanded from the literature publication field to TV and film production, broadcasting, and even to the Internet field. However, coursework focuses on “Journalism and Public Relationships” along with “Video production”. In 2009, our department again changed the name to “Communication Major”. In 2012, Christ’s College registered to MOE, and maintain the course content and program structure of “Communication Major.”
大眾傳播是傳播訊息與知識最好的工具，對於人類社會有深遠的影響，因此本主修的教學內涵首先是「基督信仰與專業的結合」，就是以信仰為我們教學的基礎與價值。其次也包含了傳播技術、創意能力、傳播知識、及藝術文化等內容。我們的使命即在於訓練具有基督徒品格與教育使命的傳播人才，使學生未來能夠以基督信仰為基礎，透過媒體傳播社會良善正面的價值觀，促進社會和諧與進步。
Mass media is one of the best channels for broadcasting values and knowledge to the society, which produces a profound influence on human beings. Therefore, the primary character of the Communication Major is 「integration of Christian faith and learning」, in which the knowledge and value system is based on the Christian faith. Further, the courses include communication skills, creative ability, communication knowledge, art and culture. Our goal is to train students to have good characters and passion for education so that the students will spread the positive values based on the Christian faith to the world through the media, and thus enhance society’s harmony and progress.
傳播主修強調「做中學」(learning by doing)，.校內有社區實習雜誌-『書院報導』，由學生自己採訪、編輯、拉廣告、派送報紙；校外則有暑假實習，安排學生到基督教機構與非基督教媒體見習，讓學生結合實務與學理，另外在畢業前，學生需進行畢業製作，以通過專業上的要求。在教學上除有理論的教導，亦重視實作，每年舉辦學習成果發表會。
Communication Major emphasizes “learning by doing,” and applies this strategy to the design of many courses. First, the students publish a community magazine—“Christ’s College Community,” which is completely reported, edited, fund-raised, and delivered by students. Second, students are assigned to practice in Christian or non-Christian media organizations, which allow students to integrate theory and practice. Finally, students also need to pass an examination portfolio before graduation. Besides the integration of theory and practice, the department also hosts a number of exhibitions with prizes for students.
1997年神清楚呼召我要訓練更多的基督徒傳播人，使我毅然離開媒體投入教育工作，實在是感受到大眾傳媒對於社會的影響，不論短期長期都是深遠的，然而傳播內容的品質取決於傳播人，如果傳播人本身沒有健康樂觀的信念，整個社會的訊息氛圍就會籠罩著抱怨與衝突，如果傳播人沒有正確的價值觀與深入的剖析，社會的價值觀也就很容易似是而非與目光短淺。因此臺北基督學院傳播主修的使命就是以信仰為根基，培養具有良好品格的傳播人，以期對社會產生正面樂觀的影響力。
同時就基督教的宣教傳播而言，全世界有超過一億的華人基督徒，需要大量的傳播材料幫助基督徒們成長，同時更需要有年輕人投入媒體來傳福音，讓更多人改變生命。近年來，中國大陸的基督徒數量驚人成長，台灣的基督徒媒體成了最佳的供應站，因此Good TV也積極興建電視台等，面對許多基督教訊息的需求，基督學院是少數培育基督徒傳播人才的高等學府。
傳播主修成立十年以來已經培養了超過400位的系友，在台灣、香港和美國的基督教媒體中都有本系的系友投入工作，也有在一般媒體機構磨練數年後再轉入福音機構，沒有忘記我們當年草創傳播主修時的異象，同時也有許多同學獻身當全職傳道人，仍然善用他們在學校所學的傳播技巧，身兼數職，也有許多同學陸續赴英美澳等國留學，取得學位，也有不錯的發展，每一次的校友聚集，總是看到上帝滿滿的祝福與帶領在每一位同學身上，我要說，願基督學院傳播主修像「初熟的果子」獻在神面前，並為神所喜悅。
In 1997, I had a vision from God about training more Christian media professionals. This vision convinced me to enter the educational field. As a media worker, I have learned the profound influence of the media over both the long- and short-term. However, media content is produced by a media worker. If a media worker does not have virtuous thinking, then the whole society will be filled with complaining and negative thoughts; if a media worker does not have correct values and the ability for deep analysis, the values of society will be confused and shallow. Therefore, the mission of Communication Major is to promote the development of the student’s character based on the Christian faith, and to equip each of them to influence this society with virtuous thinking.
At the same time, there is a huge need for Christian education for more than 100 million Chinese Christians worldwide, and a great need to evangelize the non-Christian Chinese. In recent years, the number of Christians in China has growing dramatically, and Taiwan’s Christian media has increasingly become the best supply station for them. For example Good TV is building up its own TV station. Although there is a tremendous need for the Christian message, Christ’s College is one of the few Christian higher educational institutions devoted to the education of Christian media professionals.
During the past ten years, this department has graduated more than 300 students. They are now working in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and in America’s Christian media companies. Some of our alumni have worked for several years in general media companies before serving in Christian media. They have not forgotten the mission that God has given us. Some alumni have even committed themselves to full-time missions or ministry, serving in the church with their expertise in media. Some alumni have gone on to earn their masters or Ph.D. degrees in England, America, or Australia, and have since continued to develop their careers. We testify to God’s abundant blessing and guidance in every alumnus. I pray that this department will continue to produce “good fruit” before God, and please Him forever.
