音樂主修成立於1985年，在教育上除了強調專業演奏能力以外，更鼓勵多元化學習與應用，積極培養第二專長，諸如：
音樂行政、教會音樂等；以期能在多變的社會中能有卓越之專業表現。本主修之教育以實用化、多元化為開課準則，並以培養美好品格與造就以下之音樂人才為目的：
1. 音樂演奏人才
2. 雙語音樂教育人才
3. 國際化音樂行政人才
4. 教會音樂所需之人才

The Music Department was founded in 1985, emphasizing the integration of faith and learning. In addition to performance, students are especially encouraged to develop second areas, such as music administration and church music. To achieve this goal, different areas of internship are offered: including music organization internships, practical training at churches and public concerts. The aim for the department is to build students with Christian character and specialties:
1. Professional performers
2. Music educators with bilingual teaching abilities
3. Music administrators with international vision
4. Church musicians with strong Christian faith
